The Workshop “Prototyping the Future of Museums and Educational Content” being lead by Agent Heliosense will happen on Saturday, August 15th from 11:30 – 1pm. This workshop is described as:
Prototyping the Future of Museums and Educational Content Second Life presents the opportunity to work with extended communities of specialists and educators as an extended project team. At the Tech Virtual, we apply these abilities towards the creation of museum content. On a topical basis, one can create highly interactive exhibit prototypes, then collect expert input and other content as part of each project. Never before has it been possible to work with distributed teams at this speed. Learn how educators can be part of an exciting new view of museum space – a role reversal of sorts – from traditionally preserving the past, to now, preserving the future. In this session you will learn how university classes have merged with the content creation process. Find opportunities of your own to team up with an international network dedicated to “Collective Intelligence”. Second Life users have proven to be the most skilled talent base reachable through the internet. Learn how to further apply your and your institution’s knowledge towards shaping these new venues, through new methods, towards a new definition that maximizes the value of both the physical and the virtual.
