Let the music play – SLCC 2009 Music Track!

The Music track will be going above and beyond to represent the vibrant “Live” music community within Second Life. The coordinator, Apple MacKay (Jay Mahar in RL), is a Web Strategist at a publicly traded international corporation, an Innovative Technology expert, Co-author of “the Unofficial Guide to Building Your Business in the Second Life Virtual World”, and Owner/Operator/Creator of Molaskey’s Pub.

Throughout the conference weekend, more than a dozen musicians, emcee’s and dj’s will be performing in real life as well as Second Life, with a Saturday night final (SL Musicians Ball) that will consist of over 6 hours of “Live” concerts in both San Francisco and Second Life. There will also be a number of tracks, panels, and workshops for musicians, venue owners/managers, and for those just generally interested in the “how-to’s” of the Second Life music world.

Along with Katydid Something, Lyndon Heart, Cylindrian Rutabaga, and Nasus Dumart, there are several volunteers assisting to pull together and “blow the roof off” of SLCC 2009! Keep an eye out for their specially designed 2009 SLCC Music Track posters, live and off-cite performances around the city of San Francisco, and upcoming press releases in local newspapers and magazines.

Next year I would suggest that the music track be coordinated by a panel of representatives from popular music, classical music, world music and experimental music and media art (and any other music populations in SL that I may have forgotten).
