7:30PM-10PM – “LIFE 2.0” Feature Film Screening and Q&A with Director Jason Spingarn-Koff
Sunday, 8/15 from 7:30PM to 10PM – Imperial Ballroom
Sunday evening after the convention formally closes, join us for a private screening of the feature film documentary “LIFE 2.0” with the film’s director, Jason Spingarn-Koff, and a Q&A session to follow. “LIFE 2.0” is about an upgrade of the human operating system — where life is no longer determined just by atoms, but also by bits. It’s about a remaking of identity, relationships, and the nature of reality. First time feature director Jason Spingarn-Koff digs deeply into the core of basic human interaction by assuming his own avatar and immersing himself in the worlds of Second Life residents – whose real lives have been drastically transformed by the new lives they lead in cyberspace. In doing so, he manages to create an intimate, character-based drama that forces us to question not only who we are, but who we long to be.

I hope we get some information about the social events soon — we need to plan our outfits! Shopping in RL takes so much longer than it does in-world…
Hello, I may not attend the convention but if anyone is interested in asking me about venues, feel free to contact me in world or via comment here. I live in Boston. SL Username – Magnus Rajal
I’d love to see details of the theme for Saturday evening’s event…. so people (including me) can start planning any costumes, clothing, etc. I have to echo Shirley’s comment that it takes longer to shop in RL than in SL. Some details and plans may also entice other Second Life members to register for the convention.
We will be announcing the details of the Saturday evening social events shortly. Please stay tuned!
Anybody up for Seafood night? Legal Seafoods is 2 blocks from the hotel! There are better places though too, just not so easy to organize. Nowhere in the world like Boston for seafood!! Mmmmmm, I can almost taste the steamers.
I’m planning on heading out to Dick’s Last Stand while i’m out there in Boston. I may fill out the form for an official un-official event thingy, but either way… i still plan on going and would be happy to have a group of SLers to go with.
Hey Wiz,
I am scheduling dinner and drinks for business track presenters, volunteers, and friends on Friday night at Legal Seafood.
I hope you can make it
Please spread the word. There should be something up on the Web site soon and also in acceptance letters. It would help if people could RSVP to me so I can track numbers.
Mary Ellen / Pebbles
YAY! The new events sound like a lot of fun! I knew there would be music, but hadn’t been sure about whether there would be a ball-event of any type. The \Come as your Avatar\ theme is great! (Well, for those who can… unfortunately, i won’t be able to dye my skin/hair purple/ultraviolet)
Will see you at Legal Seafood – Can’t wait to meet you all.
I am trying to organize a lunch table at the conference venue on Sunday for people like me who are experimenting with applying SL arts processes to different sorts of educational, personal or community development endeavors.
I have designed and implemented a wide variety of SL learning experiences using builds, photos, digital art, music et al and would love to chat with others who are interested.
Please IM me this week if you want to meet up next Sunday.
Marly Milena
Anyone know if Ball tickets can be purchased at the door for our guests? Thanks!
Hi Greylin, yes you will be able to purchase tickets at the door for the Saturday Evening Socials. The Saturday Social ticket is $20 and covers both the SL Musician’s Showcase as well as the Avatar Ball, and the Sunday Social ticket is $10 for the private film screening of LIFE 2.0 and the Q&A afterwards with the director.
Hi, I am waiting to hear from SL’ers who will join me at a convention lunch table on
Sunday. I’d like to share experiences with others who use arts processes in SL as part
of any learning, coaching or group experience. Please IM me ( Marly Milena) right away if you want to join the table. There will be a sign on it saying APPLIED ARTS PROCESSES IN SL
