The best thing about coming to the Second Life Community Convention is getting to meet the people behind the avatars to share real smiles, handshakes, and hugs with each other, so check to see who will be joining us in Oakland!
Note that this list only displays the Second Life names of those who “opted in” to appearing on the page. If you want your name to appear on the list, be sure to check the box when you register for the convention.

Wow!! This certainly sounds like fun, I just don’t see any names I recognize on the list , but it still sounds like something fun to do, maybe they can schedule one of these closer to me like in Atlanta or something…lol
Wow i’d like to come but impossible is to far away from Luxembourg ant not the good time at moment.
Last year i made an “meeting” with somes of my SL family and friends, was fun.
You guys have to think for doing this in Europe one day.
@Campbell, Lin, Barje, Andromede; Hi! Who says you can’t meet up virtually? Presentations are webcast live to SL (or your favorite Internet browser). The key presentation dates are set: August 13-14! Attend Live or Attend Remote!
Schedule an online party in your favorite SL venue, or teleport into the SLCC Sims. Either way, watch and discuss the 30+ presentations covering all areas of SL Resident interest.
Different time zone? Presentations are recorded to watch again and again, together or singly, at a time that best suits your schedules.

Hey everyone! Unfortunately, i won’t be able to attend this year, which means i’ll be missing SLCC for the first time since it began. I wish i could be there… someone will have to have a drink in my name.. lol.
To everyone who’ll be there, have a great time! I plan on popping in to the in-world event at some point, so maybe i’ll see some of you there.

You’re absolutely right, it’s a very good reason indeed! Getting married is about the only thing that could keep me away from SLCC and I’m extremely excited about the whole thing! I’m not sure if you’re my friend on Facebook, but I’m sure there will be plenty of pictures posted there and links to the site where all the professional pics and vids will be posted.

I too will be missing the SLCC this year. This too will be the first SLCC that I have missed since its inception. Having been part of the organizing team of the convention every year except for the first and this year this one is a particularly sad one for me. I wish everyone who is attending a wonderful time and know that the current organizers are doing there very best at making the convention the best it can be.
I know how you feel, Crucial. *HUGS* I was part of the initial meetings and team for the first and have helped in various ways (as you know) throughout the last several years. I’m hoping to make it in-world for at least part of the InWorld version, but my bachelor party is also that Saturday… hehe. I’m planning on being there next year though, hopefully with my wife-to-be (DayzeJane)!

This is my first SLCC! I use to be a big SciFi Convention buff last century, but now I’m moving more into the virtual world and Internet world as i enter my second half of my century on earth. I look forward to participating and learning more at this event.

Hi gang,
I arrived tonight (Wednesday). I had a little bit of trouble with my internet connection. I had signed up for the regular wireless with my room number and was getting a great ping of 11 ms but download speeds of less than half a meg and uploads of .2 megs or less. With the great ping I thought it the speeds may have been throttled. I dialed “0″ and talked to a hotel operator named Love, and she got me upgraded to the enhanced internet which also gave me a ping of 11 ms but downloads of 4.82 megs and uploads of 4.72 on ww.speedtest.com. Love advised that the enhance internet is available to all conference attendees booked into the hotel, at no extra cost. She works 3pm till 11 pm and is aware of our “need” for bandwitth.” LOL ! Remember when you log on to the hotels internet use the wireless connection “Oak_Mar_Guest” and click the Enhanced internet.
