The Odd Ball

The Future United is proud to present “The Odd Ball” for the Friday Evening Event. The Odd Ball is an amazing light show presented spanning a 256 meter sphere full of brilliant, swirling color. From 8pm to after midnight, a mixed reality show featuring astounding lights and effects will fill both the Grand Ballroom Screens replecating the popular “Odd Ball’ within the real convention space. While the amazing light show is displayed, talented DJs, including Jamie Ondeko, will be performing along with comedic talent Lauren Weyland!

Linden Lab Luau
Thursday, August 13th, 5 – 7pm at the Yerba Buena Gardens East Garden
To open the SLCC, Linden Lab will be hosting an opening Luau on Wednesday, August 12th, from 5 – 7pm at the Yerba Buena Gardens East Garden. During the party, sushi, pineapple pork, huli huli chicken, vegetarian delights, hawaiian macaroni salad, yummy deserts and non-alcoholic cocktails will be served! There will also be DJ’s and Leis for dancing and looking islandy.
The Blarney Stone on Tour
Thursday, August 14th, 7pm-11:30pm at Sellers Market, 721 Market St., San Francisco
““The Blarney Stone on Tour” comes to San Francisco. SL’s most famous Irish Pub is setting up home at Sellers Market, 721 Market St., San Francisco, on Thursday, August 13th at 7pm and is a short walk from the Westin St. Francis, the SLCC Host Hotel (view the directions via Google Map). This years event is an Open Mic, Live music session featuring the best of Second Life Musicians. The evening is sponsored by Dublin Tourism. The Artathon
Fluno and Nightfire will capture the excitement of the SLCC with paints and pastels in a mashup of abstract art and virtual world culture. They will hit the floors of the conference and create artworks that will commemorate the people, discussions, music, and architecture of the SLCC at the Westin St Francis and other offsite events. Not only is this a live art making event, it’s a chance to interact with Fluno and Nightfire in a real time workshop atmosphere to learn about some of the tools and techniques of contemporary artists. Artworks will be auctioned off on Sunday afternoon and proceeds will be donated to Virtual Ability (http://virtualability.org), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that helps make SL more accessible for people with disabilities and chronic illnesses.
The Musician’s Ball: A Night of Peace, Love & Music

Saturday, August 15 from 7p-1am come mingle at this once-in-a-lifetime event filled with music, schtick, art and certain mayhem.
Cash Bar will be available throughout the evening.
Admittance to the ‘Musicians’s Ball’ is complimentary to the registered sponsors and attendees of the SLCC.
With a ballroom that can accommodate up to 1000 people, we’re inviting the San Francisco community to come enjoy a great night out, too.
General admission tickets are $20.00 at the door – OR – go to http://slccmusiciansball.eventbrite.com/ and receive a $5.00 per ticket discount with a ‘Pre-sale concert ticket‘ for just $15.00 per person. Either way, it promises to be an affordable, enjoyable night out.
